Don’t Put Your Address on Your Resume–Here’s Why (@avidcareerist)

choosing doors to openHere’s an interesting article from Donna Svei (@avidcareerist) about why you shouldn’t put your home address on your resume.

Per Donna, you don’t want to let a recruiter know where you live because recruiters and companies screen out candidates for potential jobs based on whether they think the candidate will have a long commute.

So Donna says to leave your address off resume, if you want a chance at all available jobs in a metropolitan area. She also offers some advice on what to put on resume in lieu of putting in your home address.

This is good interesting advice and something I’d recommend reading for all my friends who are currently job hunting (unfortunately, more than I like to think about).
