IT Jungle: Join John Earl’s Battle Against Brain Cancer

John Earl formerly of Townsend Security and mainstay in the IBM i (AS/400) community for years is fighting a battle against brain cancer.

His wife Kathy is participating in a fund-raising event called the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk.

From Tim Prickett Morgan’s IT Jungle article on John’s battle:

Proceeds from the walk, which will take place September 22, benefit the Pacific Northwest Region’s brain cancer research projects and also support programs and services that benefit brain cancer patients, including clinical trials, advocacy programs, and comprehensive patient care and support services in the Pacific Northwest.

The support programs provide patients and their families with access to professionals who assist them with the challenges unique to people living with brain tumors. The specialists work with patients to provide emotional support, help with logistical needs, assistance with financial or insurance issues and long-term planning, as well as accessing or scheduling complimentary therapies.

Donations that support “Team Earl” can be pledged at this link. In the team search box, type in the name Earl.

I wish John and his family all the best and good fortune in battling this disease.
