IT Jungle: In-Depth on Help/Systems Buying Safestone

From IT Jungle, here’s more in-depth information about the Help/Systems acquisition of UK-based Safestone Technologies that I blogged about last week.

Among other facts, here are some gems you may want to read about in this Tim Prickett-Morgan article.

  • This is Help/Systems’ third acquisition in 13 months
  • SafeStone main product is called DetectIT. It’s a security, audit, and compliance tool that was created for the OS/400 (now IBM i) marketplace and is used by about 500 different organizations worldwide.
  • With this deal, Help/Systems is not just buying access to DetectIT but expertise with AIX security

And there’s lot of other interesting stuff including what the plans may be for integrating SafeStone into the Help/Systems family, how the deal may fit into Help/Systems’ expansion plans, and how it fits in with other Help/Systems’ subsidiary SkyBot Software’s purchase of Open Systems Mangement in May 2011.

As with any Timothy Prickett-Morgan, lots of good detail in here about the acquisition. You can read the whole article by clicking here.
