IT Jungle: Using Incremental IFS Backups to Speed Up Backup Times

IT Jungle just published my latest tip on how to speed up an AS/400 Integrated File System (IFS) backup by breaking the backup into a full backup combined with incremental backups. In this piece, I also show green-screen and System i Navigator techniques for determining whether an IFS object has been modified.

    Good Article on the IFS Incremental Backup. Any suggestions on how to incorporate this idea within BRMS. I have looked for this option with the BRMS service within OPS Navigator but I cannot see anything within by back control groups. Thanks

      We don’t use BRMS at our test labs, but I’ll check around for other who may know of an answer. If anyone has any ideas on how to deploy incremental IFS backup on the IFS, please feel free to post. Thanks…Joe
