What is a White Paper?

“White papers are a time-tested format for long-form copy that combine expository and persuasive writing, whose roots go back more than 100 years and whose future stretches ahead for as long as companies sell anything new, complex, and expensive that needs explaining to a B2B prospect.”

–Gordon Graham, White Paper expert, White Papers for Dummies

This is a good definition, but by no means the only definition (for example, you can write about more than B2B products). But I like this definition as a starter.

If you’re interested in hiring someone to help you produce high quality white papers for the technology industry, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] . I’ll be glad to discuss any ideas you have for white paper projects.
